About OM

Oxford Magazine is a literary magazine edited and published by graduate students at the Department of English at Miami University of Ohio. Since our premiere in 1984, our journal has received Pushcart Prizes for both fiction and poetry, and has published authors such as William Stafford, Robert Pinsky, Stephen Dixon, Andre Dubus, and Stuart Dybek. In 1997, Writers Digest named Oxford Magazine one of the fifty best fiction markets.

In 2004, Oxford Magazine left the world of ink and paper and became a web-based publication. This has allowed us to integrate sound and video into our journal, as well as to reach a much greater readership without many of the up-front costs of print publishing. It is still expensive to publish a journal, and any donations would be greatly appreciated.

This edition was published with the help and technical expertise of Dana Leonard and Dirk Tepe. Artwork that appears on the front page and in the header is courtesy of Matthew Snizek.
