Rita Kiefer
Rita Brady Kiefer is currently a full-time writer who lives in Evergreen, Colorado. In 2000 she retired from her position as Professor of English and Women’s Studies at the University of Northern Colorado. Her passion for empowering all potential writers, especially survivors of domestic violence, has taken her to local safehouses, where she conducts weekly writing sessions with residents. During the past two years she has completed a full-length play based on the stories of four of the women she met in the shelters (My Name Is Not Eve). She has just completed a book (Beyond Unveiling) which includes the women’s writings and her memoir. Kiefer’s other work includes the book Nesting Doll, chapbooks Trying on Faces and Unveiling, and poems appearing in numerous journals and anthologies.
