Recreational Sports Center

The Miami Rec Center is a great place to be active whether that is using the equipment in the 2-level fitness center, swimming in the Olympic-sized pool, or jogging on the suspended track.

Check out all of the group fitness classes, especially during the first week of the semester when all classes will be free of charge.  Are you life guard certified and looking for a job? The aquatic center is now hiring lifeguards. Want to climb a 40-foot rock wall, go camping, or use the high ropes course? Visit the Outdoor Pursuit Center and climbing wall located in the Rec to find out how. Want to play intramural flag football, indoor or outdoor soccer, dodgeball, or basketball with your friends? Join an intramural team; Miami offers over 45 intramural leagues and tournaments. The possibilities are endless! To learn more about the Rec Center, visit www.muohio.edu/recsports.

Meal Plans

Hungry? Want to grab a meal with friends on campus in between classes? Use your meal plan!
Miami offers a variety of different meal plans for students that can be used across campus. Diplomat, passport, attaché, and ambassador are the four meal plan options, and eligibility for each plan varies based on residency and class ranking. First year students who live in campus will choose either a Diplomat or Passport are meal plan. For commuting and off-campus students, the attaché or ambassador meal plans are available. Visit the on campus meal plan website for more information about first year student on campus meal plans. For more information about off campus meal plans, visit the off campus meal plan website.

MUlaa vs. MU Bucks

What’s the difference between MUlaa and MU Bucks? They’re both accounts on your Miami ID card and can be used to make purchases. The main difference is that the MUlaa account is used for on-campus spending and MU Bucks money is used for spending at various off-campus establishments.  Everyone has a MUlaa account, in which the money you deposit is non-refundable and non-transferable. The money will remain in your account until you leave Miami University. Students can pay for copies, laundry, vending, bookstore purchases, and even ice skate rental at Goggin Ice Arena with their MUlaa!
MU Bucks is an account you can choose to activate on your Miami ID card where money can be deposited for spending off-campus. You can purchase food, school supplies, and more! For more information about MUlaa and MU Bucks, visit www.hdg.muohio.edu/MiamiIDcard/.
