Welcome to the Class of 2013 E-Newsletter Series!
The Office of New Student Programs is excited to welcome you to Miami! To keep you connected with Miami, we've designed the e-newsletter series that we will send once per week for the next six weeks. Each e-newsletter is filled with helpful information about opportunities, resources, and support services available to you as a Miami student. Be sure to check out the video included in each e-newsletter and visit the websites included in the text for more information. In the meantime, visit our website at www.muohio.edu/orientation to learn more about the First Year Institute (FYI), leadership opportunities, and pre-semester programs for first year students.
Recreational Sports Center
The Miami Rec Center is a great place to be active whether that is using the equipment in the 2-level fitness center, swimming in the Olympic-sized pool, or jogging on the suspended track.
Interested in joining a club sports team? Make sure to attend the Club Sports Fair on August 27 from 4:00pm-7:00pm in Millett Hall. Want to take Spinning®, yoga, or toning classes? Check out all of the group fitness classes, especially during the first week of the semester when all classes will be free of charge. Are you life guard certified and looking for a job? The aquatic center is now hiring lifeguards. Want to climb a 40-foot rock wall, go camping, or use the high ropes course? Visit the Outdoor Pursuit Center and climbing wall located in the Rec to find out how. Want to play intramural flag football, indoor or outdoor soccer, dodgeball, or basketball with your friends? Join an intramural team; Miami offers over 45 intramural leagues and tournaments. The possibilities are endless! To learn more about the Rec Center, visit www.muohio.edu/recsports.
