I may not have better described what exactly it is that we will building. We have been asked to design and build an addition to the local school which will eventually be used for computers. Until the get the computers the room will probably be used as a classroom. There is also a small office incorporated into the design...
With the anticipation of beginning work tomorrow, the design (final) has started to take serious form. The students and J have continued with evening meetings in the hotel rooms to finalize everything.
While many of the design elements are still being worked out and details that will be added later are still being discussed, the basic foundation of the structure is this:
- From the top of the incline, the building starts off parallel with the existing structure (the office).
- At the point where the hallway meets the classroom, the building gets larger and angles off toward the center of the town.
- A walkway/colonnade will mirror the other existing buildings. As it follows the angling of the new building, it will curve to match the curved wall of the office.
It will be interesting to see tomorrow how the design looks laid out on the ground, life size!
