The migration to muConnect/Exchange will move all meetings and appointments from MM to muConnect/Exchange. Currently meetings and appointments from January 1, 2006 forward are stored in the Meeting Maker system.

Meeting Maker will be taken out of service at noon on Friday, July 27. On Monday, July 30 anyone who held a Meeting Maker calendar will find that data populated in their muConnect/Exchange calendar.

The muConnect/Exchange calendar may be viewed using Outlook 2003 or 2007, Entourage or Outlook Web Access.

Meeting Maker users will receive three messages from the project team. The first message, sent 7/17, outlined the basic expectations for the MM migration. The second message, to be sent the week of 7/23, will provide more detailed instructions. A final message will be sent the early on 7/30 to inform MM users of any additional information regarding the migration.

It is suggested that MM users plan to compare their new Exchange calendar to the old MM calendar. Users may make a hard copy of their calendar before the migration or access their MM account either via the web client (www.meetingmaker.muohio.edu) or using the "work offline" mode in the Meeting Maker desktop client.

If you choose the private computer option on the OWA log on screen, you will see this message appear.

This message essentially means that the computer you are using to access OWA can be trusted. Exchange uses a different set of controls to apply to the movement and placement of your email on the local computer as a result of this selection

Do not select the private option if you are working on a computer that may be accessed by others (for example, a computer at an internet café, or a lab computer.)

In Entourage, you can save the Calendar as a Web page, but this action cannot be automated. The Excel Auto Web Publish option is available only if you have created an automated schedule in Excel for saving a workbook as a web page. To learn about creating such a schedule, refer to the Help in Microsoft Excel.

In Outlook, click the Calendar button and then click Publish My Calendar in the Navigation Pane. Complete the Publish Calendar to Microsoft Office Online dialog box, click OK, and then complete the Published Calendar Settings dialog box.

You can schedule rooms and other resources in either Entourage or Outlook. You will continue to use your department’s/school’s policies about scheduling rooms. That is, some departments schedule rooms as a resource in Meeting Maker and some schedule rooms through an administrative assistant.

In Entourage, a contact list contains personal information about the people you have included in your Address Book. You will not have the variety of view options available in Outlook, but you can save and manage a wide variety of information about each contact including multiple phone numbers and e-mail addresses, birthdays, names of significant others, photos and an open notes field.

In Outlook, a contact is like a business card – For any personal or professional contact, you can create a business card that includes the contact’s name, address, phone number, etc. Once you have added your contacts to Outlook, you can view them in a variety of different formats. In Outlook, click Contacts and then New to create a new contact.

Within Outlook, select Tools | Options from the menu bar, click Junk E-mail in the Preferences tab, and select your level of protection.
Within Entourage, select Tools | Junk E-Mail Protection from the menu bar, select the level of junk e-mail protection you want, and click OK.
To define a domain that will never be treated as junk mail, click the Safe Domains tab, enter the domain (the part of the e-mail address that follows the @ sign), and click OK.

You cannot recall an e-mail message you have sent in Entourage.
Follow these steps to recall a sent message in Outlook 2007:

1. In Mail, in the Navigation Pane, click Sent Items.
2. Open the message that you want to recall.
3. On the Message tab, in the Actions group, click Other Actions and then click Recall.

If the recipient has already opened or read the message, it cannot be recalled.

Entourage does not have this functionality.
In Outlook, you can access a blank form by selecting New | Choose Form | Standard Forms Library and then selecting the type of form you want to create.

Yes, all mail will be scanned both coming into the environment and leaving the environment.

The basic allocation of space is 1Gb per user. Students will be limited to 1 Gb and will receive automatic warning e-mail messages as they approach filling their allocation.

When faculty and staff e-mail is migrated, if their current saved mail exceeds 1 Gb, all files will be transferred with a 10% additional allocation. Reminders to consider archiving or request an allocation increase will be sent to faculty and staff as they approach their allocation. Increases in allocations for faculty and staff will be granted, as requested.

There is a size limit of 100Mb for any e-mail message, including attachments. Be aware, if you are sending e-mail to e-mail addresses off campus, your recipient may not be able to receive messages of that size.

The bulk e-mail guidelines apply to messages sent within the university system and were established by University Communications and IT Services to limit the amount of unwanted messages and traffic in the university e-mail system. As stated in the guidelines, vice presidents, deans, chairs, or directors can establish separate guidelines for using e-mail within their particular division, department, or office. Students can access Outlook Web Access (OWA) through lab computers.

The basic directory in muConnect is the Global Address Book (GAL) that will include all faculty, staff and students, as they appear in Banner. This will be automatically updated and will respect any opt-out requests made for directory information.

All your e-mail will be migrated. E-mail saved on the current server will be moved to muConnect with your account. The easy-to-use migration tool will allow you to move e-mail and address books saved in your current desktop application to Outlook or Entourage.

The muConnect environment will make that possible in the future.
