OpenDocument Metadata Subcommittee is Live
The OpenDocument TC recently approved the creation of a metadata subcommittee. As of today, OASIS has setup the infrastructure for it. The SC is an important step as it provides a well-defined roadmap for how we get to a solid final proposal, which many of us believe will be a significant enhancement to ODF.
First step in that process is to collect and categorize use cases, which will then be approved by the ODF TC before moving on requirements. Patrick Durusau (the SC chair) and I have started to add content to the ODF wiki to cover the use cases, with my bibliographic and citation case being the first. We hope to fill this out over the next weeks and encourage feedback and suggestions from the wider world of those interested in metadata.
Comments can be submitted here, and can either refer to existing use cases (”+1 on X, because A, B, C”) or suggest new ones.
