New BiblioX Release (almost)
One of the problems of living on the bleeding edge is you sometimes get bloodied. In my case, I have an article to submit, but nothing that correctly processes the citations!
Peter Flynn issued a partial new release of his all-xml.xslt-based citation processor BiblioX. Unfortunately, he’s been too busy to finish with a few remaining issues, and I’ve exhausted my xslt skills.
To do:
- The TEI driver and key file needs updating
- MODS support, which is what I’m most interested in. I have MODS support partially implemented with DocBook and its new biblioref element (which I’m using for a book project), but in-line citation years and multi-author aren’t working. There are also a few other problems.
- I think the internal data model is wrong, and too much influenced/polluted by bibtex. The key system Peter uses is based around pub types (book, article, etc.) which is to my mind a) unnecessary, and so inefficient and prone to bugs, and b) limited.
I’ve posted the archive of where I’m at here, complete with a sample file. Anyone out there with xslt skills and a need for xml-related citation processing (including for Word 2003, BTW), take a look, and let me know if you have questions, or if you get it working!
